Strattic launches support for WPML and Polylang!

Static and headless WordPress. In one click.

WPML and Polylang are among the most popular WordPress multilingual plugins. And now, you can use them for your static WordPress sites generated by Strattic!

What is Strattic

Strattic is a static WordPress hosting platform that converts WordPress sites to static sites for increased speed, security and scalability. In one click.

If you’re not sure what all the fuss is about going static, here are some reasons why we think (almost) every site should be static.

What is WPML

WPML is a WordPress plugin that lets you add languages to your WordPress sites easily. It is one of the most used multilingual plugins and has been around a loooong time.

How does Strattic support for WPML work?

  1. Install WPML (if it isn’t installed already)
  2. Go to WPML > Languages and make sure the Language URL format is set to “Different languages in directories”. We currently support directories, but not subdomains or parameters.
  3. Add languages and content as you normally would and then click on the big red Strattic publish button to generate a static version of your WordPress site.

What is Polylang?

Polylang is another popular multilingual plugin for WordPress that tries to simplify managing a multilingual site. You write posts, pages and create categories and tags as usual, and then define the language for each of them.

How does Strattic support for Polylang work?

  1. Install Polylang (if it isn’t installed already)
  2. Go to Polylang > Settings and make sure the URL Modifications are set to “The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks”. We currently support directories, but not subdomains.
  3. Add languages and content as you normally would and then click on the big red Strattic publish button to generate a static version of your WordPress site.

That’s it! Enjoy your static site in all the languages!
